Sending salāwāt (salutations) upon him is not only an act of obedience but a form of spiritual connection. One such form is the beautiful Qasīda: Salaamu Alaika Yā Maulānā Muhammadu Sayyidul-Ummah, a heartfelt poem sung in many Muslim communities to express reverence and admiration. 💬 Meaning and Spiritual Significance The words “Salaamu Alaika Yā Maulānā Muhammadu” mean “Peace be upon you, O our Master Muḥammad, leader of the Ummah.” These lines echo the command from the Qur’an:  إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا “Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and peace abundantly.” (Qur’an, Al-Aḥzāb 33:56)
